Fatal crash now said to be a case of homicide

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – St. Louis Police say what appeared to be an accidental death on Sunday is now a homicide.
35 year old Phillip Galczynski of Herculaneum was found in his pick up truck bleeding from the head.
The truck had crashed into a retaining wall in the 1400 block of Hampton.
A routine X-ray by the Medical Examiner revealed a bullet lodged in Galczynski’s head.
Further examination revealed the bullet was not self inflicted and it’s believed that the victim was shot shortly before his vehicle crashed into the wall.
Homicide investigators say they have developed several leads in the case.
Phillip Galczynski lived in the 600 block of Santschi Street in Herculaneum.
