Mourners take cover as shots fired at funeral
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Mourners were forced to take cover when shots rang out at a Kansas City funeral for the cousin of a University of Missouri basketball player.
The shooting happened Tuesday at Macedonia Baptist, where the funeral was being held for 20-year-old Marion Denmon, cousin of Missouri guard Marcus Denmon.
Marion Denmon was shot Dec. 3 while riding in a car that got caught between two other vehicles whose occupants were firing at each other.
Denmon died four days later.
Initial reports indicate nobody was hit in the funeral shooting.
A Kansas City police spokesman says the department was trying to get more details on the shooting before releasing information.
