ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – A short walk from the riverfront, just north of downtown, more than fifty homeless people are living in tents and shacks, which the city is considering shutting down.
Homeless man Frankie Kootz says the recent fires are isolated incidents, “there it trouble once in awhile, but we try to maintain it.”
Some of the homeless keep warm in their shelters with kerosene or propane heaters at night.
Charities drop off canned goods and there are piles of firewood nearby for cooking.
