JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMOX) – The now-bankrupt USfidelis is just one of the Missouri companies that have driven thousands of consumers to complain they were duped into buying worthless auto service contracts.  And this week the state’s Attorney General announces new legislation to keep the industry in check.

Attorney General Chris Koster wants auto service contract marketers to give consumers a chance to opt-out of the deal.

Koster is also recommending those sellers be licensed.

The AG’s office is involved in a dozen lawsuits against auto service contract marketers.
