ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – If traffic headed to the Great Forest Park Balloon race Saturday is anything like Friday night for the balloon glow you can expect a lot of competition on the roadways.
Friday night, police had to shut down the Northbound exit ramps from Eastbound I-64 to both Hampton and Kingshighway.
Traffic was so heavy that it backed up onto the interstate. Thats when the decision was made to shut down the ramps.
So get ready for another round of traffic problems; Saturday there’s the balloon race, a Cardinal baseball game in the evening and a number of people heading out of town to watch Mizzou and there will be work on Interstates 64 and 55.
Police spent some of their time at the balloon glow last night looking for lost children. There were at least two incidents in which parents lost sight of their children for a time. Police say both were reunited.
